‘Strollin’ Through the Colon’ aims to educate about colorectal cancers

Visitors to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital Pavilion on March 20 got an immersive lesson on colorectal health, thanks to a stroll through a 12-foot inflatable colon. Unlike real-life colons, this one provided information about colon health, screening options and how to prevent colorectal cancers, which are the second-leading cause of cancer mortality in the U.S.

Held in conjunction with the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, the “Incredible Colon” was a fun, interactive way to recognize Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, which happens in March. Read more about “Strollin’ Through the Colon” here.
